The Rainbow Houses of South Peoria

As I survey the architecture of South Peoria, I've been collecting rainbow-colored houses. Purple was the hardest! These are all in the one square mile or so bounded by Western, Laramie, Lincoln, and Krause, comprising two old streetcar neighborhoods laid out along the Garden and Lincoln lines. You can read more about my project surveying the architecture and history of the neighborhood here.

  1. I grew up in a grey house with black and white trim on East Frye. Many of these other homes look very familiar and I should be able to place them.

  2. Laura, I know how easily you get lost in Peoria. I can just imagine you cruising the streets on the South Side looking for houses to photograph.

    1. That is exactly what I do, and I don't get lost down there anymore! (I do still get confused when I go from the orthogonal grid to the diagonal grid, but there's no helping that.)

  4. I am always looking for some free kinds of stuff over the internet. There are also some companies which give free samples. But after visiting your blog, I do not visit too many blogs. Thanks. venta de terrenos
